Snorkel

Today we had our first snorkel for the summer season. Great conditions, lots of fishes, salps and other interesting things to see in good visibility. Some of our guests have to booked for us to also take them snorkelling. Small groups guaranteed this season with a minimum of just two people.

Warm Winter

A few keen visitors have stayed in our bed and breakfast and enjoyed fine food, good company and some good gigs at the Sawmill Cafe or one of the restaurants in Matakana. The movie theatre there also offers a nice night out. There has been very little rain so has been excellent for walking many of the tracks around the area.

Fire Brigade Open Day

We watched as members cut up a car with jaws of life, followed by Leigh Volunteer Fire Brigade displaying their compressed air foam at the Leigh Hotel.  This followed our Leigh Coastal Walk Day which was a great success raising funds for the fire brigade.

Leigh Walks

The Leigh Business Community that we are involved with have put together a wonderful brochure highlighting walks around the Leigh area. The brochure is now almost complete so look out for your copy soon.

February 2013

This year February is like it used to be - hot and dry! Great conditions though for snorkelling at Goat Island. Most of our bed and breakfast visitors have enjoyed the water. But if you don't want to get wet there is still the glass bottom boat that runs regular trips off the beach. Many visitors have also enjoyed the beautiful Tawharanui Regional Park which we can highly recommend.

January Holidays

This month has been great for visitors to enjoy all we have to offer. Most haven't stayed long enough to do it all! Walking, snorkelling, swimming, fishing, sunning, sleeping, eating etc etc. Lots to do!
